February 26, 2015 Face-to-Face Meeting Minutes

The February 26, 2015 DHRA monthly Face-to-Face meeting was opened by Mary Turton, KC9APG.

Announcements:

DHRA 2015 Final Election Results:

President — Steve Riska, KE5BAD
Secretary — Mary Turton, KC9APG

And a big welcome to our new President, Steve Riska, KE5BAD!

Meeting Theme:

Our special guest speaker was Kelly Weldon, KD7IMZ, the EC of Salt Lake County ARES.  Kelly spoke on Grab ‘N Go bags and shared with us all his wonderful Grab ‘N go contents.  He really overwhelmed us and had about six different bags and the contents were all different.  He even had an ‘office’ go bag with all the forms, procedures, paper work, booklets for ARES, all kinds of pens (my husband, KC9APF was impressed with that).  I liked his portable antennas, and there was so, so much more.  So if you were not at this meeting, you missed alot!!  Kelly also explained the purpose and operation of Salt Lake County ARES, as the DHRA has recently partnered with them so that they can help us if our resources get depleted in serving our City in an emergency, and so that we can in reverse help out other communities in the Salt Lake Valley served by Salt Lake County ARES.  A handful of our members are already registered with SL ARES, but we encourage all of you to join.  Their weekly nets are held every Wednesday, except the 4th Wednesday, at 8:30 pm.  The weekly nets are held on our repeater at 146.700(-) T: 100 Hz except for 5th Wednesdays which are simplex nets.  More information on the weekly nets can be found on the training page.
